Gastroenterologist
Dr Peter Hendy is a gastroenterologist providing care across a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions. He completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2005, following an undergraduate degree in biomedical science. His physician and advanced gastroenterology training was undertaken at the Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals in Brisbane.
Following completion of specialty training, Dr Hendy undertook a clinical research fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in the United Kingdom. He has a strong interest in general gastroenterology, including bowel cancer screening, with a particular focus on inflammatory bowel diseases.
Dr Hendy has completed postgraduate studies in clinical education at Flinders University and holds a Senior Lecturer position with the University of Queensland Medical School. He is actively involved in teaching and supervising medical students, as well as physician and gastroenterology trainees, in his role as education lead and senior staff specialist at the Mater Hospital, Brisbane.
He consults privately with Mater Hill Gastroenterology and performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures at the Mater Private Hospital, South Brisbane.Â
